ABOUT HEF

OUR BEGINNINGS.

The Harrison Educational Foundation (otherwise known as “HEF”) was established in 1994 by a small group of local residents who wished to provide opportunities to enhance and enliven the education offered in our schools.

OUR MISSION

The Harrison Educational Foundation encourages excellence in education by generating and distributing private funds for curriculum enrichment programs to benefit the students of the Harrison Central School District. HEF seeks to achieve its goals by providing opportunities for creative teaching and learning experiences and by encouraging community and district partnerships.

HOW WE WORK.

HEF operates independently from the Board of Education. Funds raised are used for special projects and programs beyond the scope of the school budget. School administrators and teachers are encouraged to submit grant applications. Decisions are made to fund grants based on the perceived value of the application to students. HEF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused exclusively on supporting academic enrichment programs at each of the six schools of the Harrison Central School District.

OUR PARTNERS.

At HEF, we believe that partnerships are key to achieving our mission. We are grateful for the support of our partners and donors who share our commitment to improving the educational experience of students in the Harrison Central School District. Together, we are able to provide innovative and engaging programs that inspire students to explore new ideas and develop a lifelong love of learning. Thank you for your continued support.
